Please join us for a self-guided Front Yard Garden Tour from 2-4pm on Saturday, September 19, 2020. (Rain date 2-4pm, Sunday, September 20, 2020.) Visit one or both of the tours in adjacent Kitchener neighbourhoods, Central Frederick and Olde Berlin Town.
The Olde Berlin Town tour features 12 gardens and the gardeners behind them. Garden Hosts will share their vision and answer questions. When asked for a brief description, Hosts offered “an urban woods”, “an English Shade Garden” and “supported nature”, among their varied answers.
We are also delighted to include presentations on the gaol gardens, the formation of Hibner Park, and the “Planting One Another” installation at KWAG.
The Olde Berlin Town Neighbourhood Association will host an information table – a great opportunity to connect, for new and old neighbours alike.
Last, but certainly not least, stop by the Bike Kitchener table to learn about the latest cycling projects and opportunities.
When you visit a garden or information table, please find a marked spot on the sidewalk and join in a chat with the Host and other visitors. We’ll learn from each other, get inspired and simply connect. As our goal is to encourage neighbourly connections, regardless of how you travel to the Garden Tour, please avoid the use of cars when travelling between locations.

COVID-19 Considerations
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, please:
1. Do not attend if you begin to feel symptoms of COVID-19;
2. Maintain a minimum two metre distance between your party and other households;
3. Wait at a safe distance or head to a different location, if you see a cluster of people; and
4. Bring a face mask and wear it when maintaining a two metre separating distance is not possible.
We will implement the most up-to-date COVID-19 safety measures from the Province of Ontario, Region of Waterloo and City of Kitchener. We will postpone our event if any presiding government or public health authority places us back into Stage 2 or Stage 1 of Covid response or requests we do so.

The Front Yard Garden Tours are a joint venture by two Kitchener neighbourhoods, Central Frederick and Olde Berlin Town. It is supported by the Central Frederick Neighbourhood Association, the Olde Berlin Town Neighbourhood Association, the Downtown Community Centre and the Festival of Neighbourhoods. Support from Neighbours Day is pending.
